The City of Chicago Nonprofit Capacity Building Program
The Chicago Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP) has launched The City of Chicago Nonprofit Capacity Building Program (NCBP). This program was designed to provide access to curated coaching and education programs for Chicago area nonprofits in an effort to support nonprofit organizations gain access to capital, funding, and other resources to counteract the effects of the pandemic.
Readiness Summit: Informs organizations so they can prepare to apply for grants and contracts funded by the Chicago Recovery Plan and other economic recovery funding.

Networking Events: Chicago nonprofits are invited to join the City of Chicago and the UIC Collaboratory for Health Justice for an in-person networking event at the UIC School of Public Health on Thursday, May 11th from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM. At this event, nonprofit leaders will have the opportunity to connect with other nonprofits who have overlapping interests and similar programs. There will also be information on different models for nonprofit collaborations via grant funding. After the session, representatives from the City’s Nonprofit Capacity Building Program will be available from 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM to answer questions about Chicago Recovery Plan grants and sign participants up for future capacity-building supports.
One-on-one counseling: A one-on-one meeting with a subject expert who can help you with specific grant application issues.

Flexible Funding Program
Full Application: Dependent on flexible funding type
Equitable investment in neighborhoods cannot happen without the leadership of community-based organizations. That means these organizations need access to funding that is focused solely on the state of the organization rather than its programs and initiatives. The Flexible Funding Program provides three distinct types of “flexible” dollars to organizations in Black and Latinx neighborhoods.
To receive Flexible Funding support, the organization must be Black or Latinx-led, and its work must align with the Trust’s Catalyzing Neighborhood Investment strategy.

Back to Business (B2B) Grants for Creative Arts, Hotels & Restaurants
Applications open April 5, 2023 through May 10, 2023 - First Come First Served
The Back to Business (B2B) grant program provides recovery grants for businesses in the hardest-hit industries. Through the state’s B2B and Business Interruption Grant (BIG) Programs, DCEO has provided more than $535 million to more than 15,000 businesses since the start of the pandemic.
Eligible restaurants, hotels and creative arts businesses are eligible to apply for $175 million in available grant funding as part of our efforts to support ongoing recovery in hard-hit industries. All applicants will receive a grant as long as they meet eligibility requirements, submit proper documentation and attestations required by the program.
